What we offer
Finding the right kind of support matters. At Olympic Psychology Services, we offer a range of mental health services designed to meet people where they are, whether that's working through anxiety or depression, strengthening a relationship, getting answers through psychological testing, or something a little more unconventional.
We're a locally-rooted Puget Sound practice, not a large corporate clinic. Our clinicians are highly trained and licensed, and we offer both in-person appointments at our Tacoma office and telehealth sessions for clients throughout Washington state.
Below is an overview of what we do. Each one has its own dedicated page with more detail, but if you're not sure where to start, feel free to contact us and we'll help you figure out the right fit.
General Therapy
Individual therapy is at the heart of what we do. Our clinicians work with children, teens, adults, and families on a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, grief, life transitions, relationship struggles, and more. We provide LGBTQ+ affirming care and support clients dealing with chronic illness, identity questions, co-dependency, and neurodivergent-related challenges including autism spectrum support.
We use evidence-based treatment approaches, meaning the methods we use are backed by research, not just intuition. That said, good therapy is also a relationship, and we take seriously the work of finding the right match between client and clinician.
Whether you're navigating something acute or dealing with patterns that have been with you for years, general individual therapy is often where that work begins.
Good for: Depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, PTSD, LGBTQ+ concerns, chronic illness, autism spectrum support, and more.

Couples Therapy
Relationships are hard. Not because something is wrong with yours, but because two people with different histories, communication styles, and needs are trying to build something together. That takes real skill, and it's a skill that can be learned.
Our couples therapists use two approaches with the strongest research records in the field: the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Both are designed to help partners understand the patterns that are driving conflict, rebuild emotional connection, and develop tools they can actually use outside the therapy room.
We work with couples at every stage and every kind of relationship, including couples considering marriage, those navigating infidelity or major life changes, and long-term partners who have grown apart. We also offer premarital counseling for couples who want to build a solid foundation before they wed.
Couples therapy at OPS is provided through our specialized group, Select Services by OPS.
Good for: Communication breakdown, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, infidelity recovery, premarital preparation, adjustment to parenthood, and more.

Psychological Testing and Assessment
Sometimes talk therapy alone isn't enough to get a clear picture. Psychological testing provides objective, detailed information about how someone thinks, learns, processes, and functions. It's often the step that finally gives people answers they've been looking for, whether that's a diagnosis that explains years of struggle, or a report that helps a school or employer understand how to support someone effectively.
Our assessments are conducted through Select Services by OPS, our specialized group operating out of the same Tacoma location. Testing is administered and interpreted by licensed psychologists with expertise in neuropsychological and psychological evaluation.
We offer a broad range of assessments, including ADHD evaluations, autism spectrum assessments, learning disability and IEP testing, IQ and academic potential assessments, personality and mood disorder evaluations, pre-employment psychological screenings for law enforcement and public safety, FAA pilot evaluations, and more.
Please note: we do not conduct parenting or custody-related evaluations.
Good for: Diagnostic clarity for ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, mood disorders, and cognitive concerns; professional and pre-employment screenings; FAA-required evaluations.

Tabletop Therapy
Tabletop Therapy uses collaborative tabletop role-playing games, most often Dungeons and Dragons, as a therapeutic tool. It's a real, evidence-informed approach, and it works particularly well for kids, teens, and adults who struggle to engage with traditional talk therapy.
The idea is straightforward: playing a character in a structured story gives clients a way to explore difficult emotions, practice social skills, work through anxiety, and build confidence in a setting that feels safe and engaging rather than clinical. For people who freeze up in a face-to-face conversation about their feelings but come alive at a gaming table, it's often the approach that finally clicks.
Our tabletop therapy sessions are led by licensed clinicians with additional training who are also experienced players. You don't need to have played D&D before. You just need to be willing to try something different.
Good for: Social anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum support, depression, building confidence and social skills, teens who resist traditional therapy, and adults who learn through play.
