Dr. Corbett believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing. It is often rare for us to have space dedicated solely to being heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Research consistently shows that this connection is one of the strongest predictors of client growth, and Dr. Corbett prioritizes developing a warm, collaborative, and trusting relationship where clients feel safe to explore painful experiences and experiment with new ways of living.

She specializes in helping adults heal from trauma (whether childhood, sexual, military, or complex) by creating a safe, supportive space where clients’ identities and life experiences are respected and affirmed. Her therapeutic style integrates emotion-focused and empowerment feminist approaches, along with other evidence-based interventions. For clients focusing on trauma work, Dr. Corbett can incorporate a variety of trauma-focused approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, or Emotion Focused Therapy for Trauma, and she has experience with specific treatments for trauma-related nightmares. Every client is unique, and Dr. Corbett is dedicated to tailoring therapy to meet clients' needs, strengths, cultural context, and goals.

Beyond trauma, Dr. Corbett is trained as a generalist and is happy to work with adult clients presenting with other concerns, such as depression, self-esteem, emotional challenges, grief and loss, body image, gender identity, etc.. She is committed to providing affirming care for individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and life experiences. Clients who work with Dr. Corbett can expect an atmosphere of empathy, inclusivity, and curiosity, with the goal of leaving therapy feeling empowered and connected.

Outside of the office, Dr. Corbett loves spending time in nature, playing the piano, enjoying live music, reading and exploring new bookstores, and relaxing with her goofy dog, Ray.
