  Dr. Emily DiNatale

Dr. Emily DiNatale (she/her) earned her PhD from East Carolina University’s Clinical Health Psychology program in 2014 and has provided consultation and therapy in integrated healthcare settings at the Veterans Health Administration for almost 10 years. These experiences have deepened Dr. DiNatale’s appreciation for a holistic and person-centered approach to mental wellness. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with a warm interpersonal approach.

 

Dr. DiNatale provides therapy to adults for a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, sleep concerns, health behavior change, substance use, chronic pain, adjustment stress, chronic illness, and weight management. She is experienced in providing therapy for those living with IBS and other GI concerns, chronic pain, diabetes, fibromyalgia, cancer, cardiac conditions, and binge eating concerns. Dr. DiNatale also has an interest in performance coaching and honing psychological skill in sport/athletics and academia.

 

Dr. DiNatale tailors the treatment plan for each client with consideration for the client’s values and goals.  Mental health care should be a safe and welcoming space for all. Dr. DiNatale is committed to respecting and protecting space for the intersectionality of age, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, nationality, ability, and faith identities. She is an LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist. Dr. DiNatale also has significant experience working with service members and the influence of military culture on healing and resiliency.

 

In her free time Dr. DiNatale enjoys rock climbing, running, swimming, cycling, wood-working, and playing with her two dogs: Rosie and Murphy.
