  Dr. David Slagle

David Slagle, Ph.D. received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Wyoming. He completed his doctoral internship at the Charleston Consortium and his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington’s Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress. During his training he gained advanced knowledge in the assessment and treatment of PTSD. 

 

Dr. Slagle worked as a staff psychologist at the Seattle and American Lake VA Medical Centers from 2008 to 2017 and at the Federal Way Vet Center from 2017 to 2021. He has treated a wide range of mental health issues including: PTSD, depression, anxiety, panic, adjustment concerns, and substance abuse.   

 

Dr. Slagle practices an integrated style of therapy. He utilizes techniques from a variety of therapeutic orientations including: experiential/humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. He believes that effective therapy begins and ends within the context of a warm, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.  

 

Dr. Slagle resides in Tacoma with his spouse and son. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his family, as well as reading, hiking, and practicing aikido.
